Scan Modes and Pricing

Accessibility scans are bought one run at a time. You do not need a plan to buy one, and nothing is charged for a site the scanner cannot reach.

Scan modes

The mode sets how many pages a scan checks and how long it may take. It is set on the site, so every run of a site is comparable with the last.

Mode Pages Time limit Good for
Quick up to 25 15 minutes A landing site, or one flow before a release
Standard up to 100 45 minutes Most applications, signed in
Deep up to 400 3 hours A full product, or preparing for a conformance review

Most sites finish well inside the limit. If a scan does reach its time limit, it stops cleanly, reports what it checked and says so on the report.

The price of each mode is shown on the Run button and on the checkout before you pay. Your organization may have complimentary runs, shown as Free.

The free site check

Before a scan is sold, Codity confirms the scanner can reach the site: it loads the start page with the configured login (for a login form, it checks the login page loads). This runs when you select Check site, and again automatically at checkout if the site has been edited since its last passing check.

If the check fails, for example because bot protection blocks the scanner, the site answers with an error, or a Basic, Bearer or Cookie login is refused, checkout is refused with the reason and nothing is charged. A complimentary run is not used up either.

The check cannot submit a login form or see bot protection that only challenges real browsers. If either stops a scan, the scan is charged and tells you what to fix; see Getting Started.

Free re-runs

If a paid scan fails because of a problem on Codity's side, such as the scanner crashing or timing out, you are not charged twice. Once Codity has finished retrying the scan itself, a Free re-run button appears on the site. It runs the same scan, at the same mode, at no charge, whenever you choose.

A scan that fails because of the site itself, such as every page refusing the scanner, does not earn a re-run, because it would fail the same way. The report says what went wrong so you can fix it, confirm with Check site, and run again.
