Review Memory

Use Memory in the dashboard sidebar to inspect and manage what Codity remembers about the active account and its repositories. This shared knowledge is separate from the conversation history of Help chat.

Opening Memory

Open Memory (/memory) and choose Scope: Organization (all) or an accessible repository. The views are Notebook, Proposed, Documents, Forgotten and Settings. Access to a remembered record remains subject to its account/repository permissions.

Review and Correct Knowledge

Use Notebook to inspect existing memories and Proposed to review suggestions. Available record actions include editing, approving, pinning, forgetting and restoring. Check the result of an action before assuming a record changed. Forgotten records are separated from active notebook content.

Use Add memory for a deliberate entry. Documents supports source-document ingestion and its progress/errors; review the extracted knowledge before relying on it. Upload only material you are authorized to share with the selected account.

Memory in Reviews

To change shared review memory to Shadow mode:

  1. Open Memory in the dashboard sidebar.
  2. Open its Settings tab.
  3. In the organization memory-in-reviews control, choose Shadow. This computes/logs relevant memory without using it in review output.
  4. For a single repository, select that repository in the override control and choose Shadow, or Use organization setting to follow the organization.
  5. Check the saved/effective mode and any permission error. Organization governance controls can be read-only without the required access.

The organization and repository controls support:

Mode Effect
Off Reviews do not look at memory.
Shadow Relevant memory is computed/logged but not used in the review output.
On Reviews use relevant memory.

A repository override can be cleared with Use organization setting. Changing organization governance settings can require elevated access; use the available controls and reported permission messages.

Finding Acknowledgements and Deferrals

Reply directly to the relevant review finding with @codity:

  • An intentional/accepted finding can be remembered at repository scope, for future reviews in that repository.
  • A “not in this PR” deferral applies only to that PR's re-reviews and ends when the PR closes.
  • A question is answered normally and does not establish an acknowledgement.

These scopes do not suppress arbitrary nearby findings. See Finding Acknowledgements for examples and matching behavior. This is different from choosing the account/repository scope of a general notebook entry.

Verification

Check the saved record, its scope and status, plus the effective review mode. If a relevant memory does not affect a review, check whether memory is Off or Shadow, whether the repository override differs and whether the record is proposed, forgotten or outside the review's scope.
